A contemporary desert garden designed for a private villa in Al Barsha, Dubai. The scheme combines gravel ground finishes, architectural succulents, corten planters and a board-formed concrete wall to create a low-maintenance outdoor space suited to Dubai conditions, with carefully positioned planting and textures creating strong evening shadow play.
Low-water contemporary garden design for a 280 sq m Al Barsha villa plot. The landscaping scope included two-tone crushed granite ground cover, architectural succulent and drought-tolerant planting, bespoke corten steel planters, a board-formed concrete feature wall and a micro-drip irrigation network serving all planting areas.
The challenge
The existing villa garden needed a contemporary landscape that would remain visually striking while reducing water use and ongoing maintenance. The design also had to introduce structure and depth without relying on extensive lawn areas.
